This was simpler times when you didn't need any accounts of any subscriptions. All you needed was an internet connection and a finished game disc with no need for patches, I wish we could go back

I remember when the online services were still available, i didn’t have wifi connection on my wii u yet, though. so i could never experience the actual online gamemode😭

So Troy’s last Nintendo wifi race saw him mess around on Grumble Volcano and disconnect while nailing a shortcut… can’t think of a more fitting end

...But WiimFii lives on! Have to get into CTGP again, tons of tracks I havent even played.

Nintendo Network is still being kept alive by 4 people today Shame the Wii servers only lasted a day before matchmaking was turned off. Luckily the last race was recorded by both people on 22nd May 2014

As a child I remember playing MK Wii online the very last day. I noticed that I randomly disconnected and assumed it was an internet router problem. I tried hours figuring this out and I eventually gave up and started crying.

This is like watching your grandma’s last days before she dies… if your grandma was immediately resurrected as a cyborg and is amazingly healthy ten years later

The uncertainty people must have felt back then, knowing they most likely had played their last game of Mario Kart Wii online.

I don't understand why they don't have a more expensive tier on Nintendo Switch Online to play games like Mario Kart DS, 7 and Wii, plus some other games from those consoles like Smash Bros, and play them online. It would make them a ton of money.
